Losing Fat Loving Food Friday 2/1

Happy February!  Can you believe a month of 2013 is gone already? 31 days and 5.6 pounds are history!! That's right folks I lost 4 pounds this past week (insert celebratory dance here).  My total to date weight loss is 35 pounds.WOO HOO
No time for slacking though as my anniversary dinner at Victoria and Albert's is only 64 days away and I want to lost an additional 14 pounds by then.  So the math geek in me says that I have to lose 1.5 pounds a week to stay on track.  My reasoning is that I don't want to buy a new dress and I have one from 2 years ago that I can wear if I lose 14 pounds.
I shared my goal with June last week (my WW leader) and she recommended that I start drinking green tea at least twice a day.  Have to say I believe that little change definitely contributed to my super week.  I've also decided to give up alcohol until V/A, it is only 9 more weeks.  It's not as if I have a glass of wine every night and Chili's no longer serving  2for1 LI Iced Teas does make it all the more easier.
One thing that also helped is planning out my day/menus.  Wednesday however was my exception.  My morning got thrown off and I wound up skipping breakfast.  Normally not a big thing however I left to go out of town for the afternoon right after lunch.  At 5pm it was as if a flip was switched and I was famished.  I refused to hit any fast-food, so we ran into Publix where I grabbed a box of 100 calorie packs and diet Pepsi for the ride home.  There's a reason I don't buy those snacks for the house ~ I ate 3 of the 6 bags just on the ride home.  Thank goodness I had those 10 points from breakfast stored as 3 bags were 8 points.  Ignoring Wednesday's debacle I can say I didn't go hungry and even had dessert every night.
This week I discovered Russel Stover's Sugar Free Butter Cream Caramels.  These puppies are not little bites that tease but nice size pieces that satisfy.  3 pieces are 5 points, however I've been allowing myself one a day.  A bag lasts just about a week and costs $1.50 at Wal-Mart.
Sunday is the Super Bowl and we're keeping it very low-key.  We're staying at home where we are in control of our food.  I know that if I get around wings or dip or desserts or well FOOD I'll undo the hard work of these last two weeks.  It isn't as if the Jaguars are playing or even one of my other favorite teams.  Like many unattached football fans I'll enjoy the game but can't wait to see the commercials, Alicia Keys sing the National Anthem and Beyonce perform at half-time.
Kick-off is 630 our time which is dinner so that's what we'll be having.  I'm planning on having Jack Daniel's Beef Brisket which is only  5PP+ a serving people ~ get happy.  I'll whip up some yummy veggies and such for pickings and we'll be good to go.

I think the Peanuts say it best

  1. Congratulations on your weight loss! 35 pounds is awesome! Despite my efforts, I'm not having much success. I need to give up alcohol to see if it makes a difference. Evidently rum & vodka are not my friends.

Thanks sweetie I couldn't do it on my own and it did take me 7 months to get here, with a long way to go. Be patient with yourself. I am sure your friends don't mean you any harm LOL
